Phun Anu Thanu Premier show at Dharamsala

 

Tibet Motion Pictures & Arts presents a new Tibetan Feature Film "Phun Anu Thanu" Premier show at Dharamsala.

It is a story narrated by a Magician from Tibet. The magician travels from place to place all over the world and tells the story of PHUN ANU THANU- Two Exile Borthers. In the film, he comes to a small Tibetan community, Dekyling, Northern India to share the story. Ultimately, he goes to New

York City and then to beijing to spread the message of peace and love through his story.

The story within story is of two naughty brothers, Anu and Thanu and their unconditional love for two beautiful and educated daughters, Yangzom and Dechen of Gyakpon la of Dekyling. Anu and Thanu are known for their negativity while Yangzom and Dechen their positive qualities throughout the community. Much against the wishes of repectable Gyakpon la, two brothers strive hard to win the heart of his two daughters. The film takes off on the 10th March 2005 where every Tibetan go to Downtown, Dehradun, to commemorate the 1959 mass Uprising at Lhasa. The two brothers, however, do not attend the gathering and run after two sisters. Since there is no one residing at the colony, the time is also perfect for two thieves to carry out their peak business of the year. The drunk, Patriotic elderly Tibetan with a long knife and bottle in his hand, crisscross colony for he want to know if the time is day or night for he want to go to Tibet and fight with the Communist. However, love rules the heart of potbellied school cook, Machen as he is busy making love with the wine lady, Ama Changma.
Apart from entertainment, the film touches social, political, moral and health issues. The film also throws light on the middle way stand of Tibetan Exile Govt and its future.

Pa-Tsering, Sonam Wangdue, Dechen Yangzom, Tenzin Choedon and Sonam Tsering.
