We are happy to inform you that its
been more then Four years since we launched
Bod Gyalo,
the only Tibetan monthly video news and views magazine in
exile. At this moment we circulate about 1000 DVD a month,
including 800 regular subscribers. During our first
experimental year, we have received many advices,
suggestions and appreciation from fellow Tibetans in India
and Nepal and overseas, and even His Holiness the Dalai Lama
and Prof. Samdong Rinpoche regularly receive a copy and have
expressed about its usefulness.
We take this
opportunity to thank all our subscribers for their support. We
are now gearing up to improving further. Sumico, a
self-sustaining Tibetan company managed by young Tibetans with
no assistance and donation from any organization, produces
Bod Gyalo.
At present we have a total strength of 15 young Tibetans
including, five in Delhi Headquarter and reporters in
Bylakuppee, Dharamsala, Katmandu, Sikkim, Dehradun, Delhi,
Swiss, Spain, Italy, France, Canada, Belgium and New York.
Our aims are:
To effectively play the role
of a responsible media by becoming a bridge between the exile
Government and the people.
To communicate news views and
discusses issues concerning our community.
To promote better sense of
democracy among Tibetans as advised by His Holiness the Dalai
Lama.
To encourage Entrepreneurship
among young Tibetans.
With the view
to produce independent bold news and views, we have not sought
any financial assistance from any body. We are confident that
your support, by subscribing to it will, not only motivate us
but will help set example for creating self-employment avenues
in the exile community.
